​과거의 추억과 현재의 나, 미래에 대한 상상, 그리고 다양한 감정과 염원들은 오랜 시간 모아온 순간들 속 오브제에 자연스럽게 투영되어 종이 위 나만의 공간에서 정물화로 다시 태어난다. 익숙하고 친근한 물건들, 푸른 잎과 화려한 꽃들, 때로는 낯설고 호기심을 자극하는 오브제까지. 내가 사물에 주목하는 이유는 각기 다른 개성과 아름다움을 지닌 외형뿐 아니라, 그들을 빛나게 하는 내면의 이야기와 역사 때문이다. 이 존재들은 늘 반가운 손님처럼 내게 다가와, 하나하나 그림 속에 풀어내는 시간이 내게 누릴 수 있는 큰 호사(豪奢)이자 기쁨이다.

나에게 작업은 단순한 완성을 넘어, 가장 ‘나다운’ 방식으로 보내는 개인적이고 독립적인 순간들의 연속이며, 내면과 소통하며 나를 찾아가는 여정이다. 수많은 생각과 감정이 반복되는 붓질 속에 겹겹이 쌓인 색과 선에 잠기고, 그 과정을 지나 고요와 평온에 닿을 때 비로소 온전한 나를 마주한다. 그리고 그 소중한 순간들은 작품에 고스란히 기록된다.

나는 작품 속 오브제들을 통해 나 자신과 타인을 바라보고 이해하려는 시선을 담아내는 것을 내 작업의 중요한 목적 중 하나로 삼는다. 우리는 모두 각기 다른 개성과 아름다움, 문화와 성격을 지니고 있으며, 그 다채로움 덕분에 세상이 더욱 흥미롭고 풍성해진다. 내 그림 속 다양한 오브제들이 모여 하나의 장면을 이루고, 마치 오래전부터 함께해온 듯한 익숙함과 조화로움을 추구하듯, 우리 역시 서로의 다름을 편견 없이 이해하고 존중할 때 따뜻하고 열린 공존이 가능하리라 조심스레 바라본다.

My memories of the past, present self, hopes for the future, and a range of emotions are reflected in objects I’ve collected over time, which are recreated as still life paintings on paper. Familiar and friendly items, green leaves, colourful flowers, and curious, unfamiliar objects — an endless variety of forms. I’m drawn to these objects not only for their visual beauty, but for the stories and histories they hold. They arrive like welcomed guests, and the time spent painting them becomes a precious, joyful experience.

For me, creating is more than finishing a piece — it is a series of honest, personal moments and a path to reconnecting with myself. In the repeated brushstrokes and layered colours, I find stillness and meet my truest self.

These quiet moments are gently preserved in my work. Through my paintings, I reflect on both myself and others. We each hold unique individuality, beauty, and culture — and this diversity makes the world richer. Like the objects in my paintings coming together in harmony, I hope we too can embrace our differences and create space for open, respectful coexistence.
